Confirmation Class of 2025
Congratulations to all the sixth class pupils who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday. We all welcomed a visit from the Patron of our School, Bishop Martin Hayes, to the school last Thursday and everyone had a great day on Saturday. We had lots of cake and celebrations at the school today. A busy start to term 3
We have had a busy start back this term with Zumba beginning today. We have been trying lots of different fruit and vegetables as part of the Food Dudes programme. We have been looking at the food pyramid. Furthermore, we have been sorting foods into those we should be eating regularly and those that are a treat! In maths, we have started our new topic - money.

Easter Egg Raffle and Parents Association Prizes
Well done to all the children who won an Easter Egg in their class raffle and to Patrick in Senior Infants who won the Easter Egg Hamper. Congratulations to the five children who won an Easter Egg and a voucher for Café Mana, Smith's Diner or Cavan Swimming Pool for raising so much money in the Parents Association Sponsored Walk. The school raised €280 for Unicef last week with our colourful Friendship Day so well do everyone who supported it too.

A look back
This week, we played English games as we work on sight words, phonics, reading and writing. Our theme was “the jungle”. We made jungle animal masks and threaded jungle animals. In the role play area, children were camping in the jungle. With magsnaps, the children made enclosures for the animals that are living in the zoo. We drew Easter bunnies.

Visit from Gardaí- how to stay safe online
A huge thank you to Garda Seamus and Garda Sharon for their visit to 6th class today. Both gardaí spoke to the class about the danger of online profiles, cyber bullying and how to keep yourself safe online. It was a very informative chat, 6th class had plenty of questions and were able to improve their understanding of the topic.

Easter Egg Raffle
Glanmore Foods, who provides our Hot School Meals, donated an Easter Egg Hamper for an Easter Raffle in the school. SuperValu in Cavan donated 8 Easter Eggs for our Raffle also. We wish to thank Niall from Glanmore and Daniel (Kajetan's dad) from SuperValu for their generous donations. Peered Reading and Peered Play
The fifth class pupils visit the Junior and Senior Infants every Tuesday and Thursday for some Peered Reading and Peered Play activities. The infant classes love to see the senior pupils visit their classrooms and engage with them in a positive and fun way.

Annual Sponsored Walk
The Parents Association will be holding their annual sponsored walk on Sunday 6th of April at 11am in Killygarry GAA Grounds. Please return all your sponsorship cards and money by Friday 4th of April to be entered into a draw for a huge array of prizes on the day. Friendship Week
We had a very eventful week in school. Each day had a theme to remind us to be: Thankful, Mindful, Look after our Well Being, Play together and Read together. Classes mixed together for Buddy Reading, Board Games, Skipping and Dancing and children got to know other children they didn't know before All in all a very friendly week!
