Coral Reef
First Class did amazing work creating their own coral reef. This took a lot of work, creativity and patience but they turned out fantastic! Thanks to the parents who came to visit.

Cavan v Wicklow Half Time Exhibition Game
Congratulations to Aideen Cullivan who was chosen to participate in the half time exhibition game between Cavan and Wicklow on Sunday 8th June. Aideen was chosen as the 6th class Killygarry representative to take part in the Cumann na mBunscol skills competition earlier in the school year. It was from this she was chosen to play during half time of the the TG4 LGFA All Ireland IFC yesterday in Kingspan Breffni.

What senior infants got up to this week
Today, we had great fun doing egg and spoon races. In maths, we have been working on time. We had discussions on different things that we feel take a short/long time. We made our own clocks and we are learning all about o’clock.

We recently had two school trips. We had our school tour to GR8 in Castleblaney. We also took advantage of the sunny weather and had a summer walk and picnic at Molly Galligan's house. Thanks for having us Molly and family!

Cavan Primary School Athletics Competition
Yesterday we entered three relay teams into the Cavan Primary Schools Athletics Competition in Shercock. We had a mixed senior team, a girls senior team and a boys senior team. As well as this Lily, Amber, Ma'ake and Faolan ran in the 80m heats and Eva and Ryan ran the long distance of 600m. Ryan & Eva came 7th with over 30 competitors in his race and Lily came 2nd in her 80m heat and second overall in the final. Everyone had a great day in the sunshine.

Boys Division 2 Cumann na mBunscol
Well done to the fourth, fifth and sixth class boys who participated in the Division 2 Cumann na mBunscol Blitz in Breffni Park last week. The boys played brilliantly but were up against tough apponents. A sincere word of thanks to Ms. Finnegan for taking the boys for all their training sessions after school and to Micheal Smith for helping out on the day. Thanks also to John Emo and Brian Crowe for refereeing on the day.

Pat Ryan Tournament Winners
Well done to the second and third class boys who participated in the Pat Ryan Tournament on the 3G pitch at Breffni Park yesterday. The boys won all their matches and brought home the Pat Ryan 7 Aside Perpetual Shield which they also won back in 2014, 11 years ago. Pat Ryan was the Principal of St. Felim's N.S. in Cavan and every year St. Felim's N.S. organise this tournament in memory of Mr. Ryan. A sincere word of thanks must go to Ciaran Brady, teacher at St. Felim's N.

May flowers
We went for a lovely nature walk yesterday and spotted lots of wild flowers. We picked these: herb Robert, purple clover, dandelion, daisy, robin run the hedge, buttercup, vetch, cuckoo flower and hawthorn blossom. Ella and Erin made pretty posies with their flowers!

Breifne College Blitz and Meeting the President of the GAA
The children had a great day at the Breifne College Blitz yesterday on the 3G pitch at Kingspan Breffni Park. The fourth class boys participated in the blitz and reached the final and were runners-up in the end. The highlight of the day was meeting the President of the GAA, Mr. Jarlath Burns, who spoke to all the children on the day. Well done to all the boys on the wonderful football played!

Holy Communion 2025
Second Class made their Holy Communion on Saturday. It was a very special day for everyone. Many thanks to Fr Jordan for all his visits to our class over the year and to Jenny for helping with the preparations. We had some lovely cake from Glanmore Foods today and dressed up in our lovely clothes once again.

Music on Wheels 2025
Today we had a great celebration of music at the school with our Music Generation Tin Whistle players, our School Trad Group who performed in Arás an Uachtaráin in December, Eibhlín on Guitar, Faolán on the fiddle, Willow on Electric Guitar, Clara doing some Irish Dancing and Danielis and Kajetan telling us a few jokes.
