First Holy Communion 2026
Congratulations to all the pupils who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday in the Cathedral of St. Patrick and St. Felim. Thank you to Ms. O'Neill for preparing the children so well for this sacrament and to Fr. Jordan for all his visits to this class throughout the year. Thank you also to Jenny in the Presbytery for all your support and hard work and to Cavan County Produce and the Parents Association for the Cake and Flowers.

Two past pupils in the Ulster Intermediate Ladies Final
Everyone at St. Brigid's National School Killygarry would like to wish our very own Ailbhe Kennedy and Derbhile Lynch the best of luck in the Ulster Intermediate Ladies Final which takes place tomorrow at 5pm in Brewster Park in Enniskillen. FTD Brothers Marathon
The FTD Brothers, Jordan and Cian Adams, ran past our school today as part of their journey of completing 32 marathons in 32 days in the 32 counties of Ireland. All the pupils came out to cheer them on with their flags, posters, bunting and balloons. Jordan and Cian Adams are completing this challenge to raise funds to find a cure for and support people with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and yesterday they had raised the 1,000,000 pound sterling mark. Wishing Killygarry GFC a very Happy 60th Birthday
All the staff, pupils and Board of Management of Killygarry National School would like to wish Killygarry Gaelic Football Club a very happy 60th birthday and we wish them well with their celebrations on Saturday night. Killygarry GFC has always been a great support to our school, giving us access to their indoor and outdoor facilities and last year they gave us a full set of Gaelic footballs for our school. We had a great day on Pancake Tuesday. First class and Second class got to learn about making pancakes and everyone got to eat one too. We loved putting chocolate spread or nutella on them!

The Titanic
Second class have spent a few weeks learning all about The Titanic, its history, writing newspaper reports with 5th class, learning how icebergs are formed, making timelines and creating their own project from a list given to them. School Marathon
Well done to all the children who participated in the School Marathon last Friday at Killygarry N.S. A sincere word of thanks to all the parents and family members who sponsored the children. There was over €4000 raised and there is still money coming in. We are going to use the money to put in a shed to keep all our physical education equipment in. Some of the money will also be used to put in a poly tunnel at the back of the school so the children can learn to grow some

Swimming Gala
Last Wednesday 35 of our students participated in the Annual Swimming Gala in Cavan Swimming Pool and Sports Complex. We had great success on the day and the children swam amazingly well. Here are some of our medal winners but all the children who participated on the day was a winner. School Book Fair
The School Book Fair will arrive in the school on Monday 17th November and will finish up on Friday 21st of November. It will be open until 4:30pm on the Wednesday and Thursday for parents during the Parent Teacher Meetings. We appreciate your support as always!
