New Polytunnel at Killygarry N.S.

Our In-School Leadership Team applied for a Sustainable Energy Grant and put together a Sustainable Energy Policy and was successful in getting funding to put in a new Polytunnel at the school. The Board of Management supported the application and funded the groundworks to be done to make this possible. Cavan County Council have kindly agreed to supply us with a Rainwater Butt to collect rainwater to use in the polytunnel and a wheelbarrow and some garden tools. Cavan Tidy Towns will give us a grant of €150 to purchase some compost, seeds and resources to make some raised beds in the polytunnel. We are delighted that our pupils will be given the opportunity to grow their own vegetables & herbs at the school.
