Weather work

Updated: Jan 12

We are focusing on learning about weather this week in Junior Infants. Our Aistear playtime in weather-themed and we are learning about weather in Irish also. You can ask your child "Conas atá an aimsir?" and they know the words for cold (fuar), hot (te), wet (fliuch) and windy (gaofar).

Our weather studio, complete with a TV camera the children made themselves!

Counting clouds

Weather play dough

A peg rainbow. Nice work!

Making a fabric rainbow in art.

We had a smashing time trying to release the dinosaurs trapped in this ice!

We are also learning about 2-D shapes. Our main focus is on squares, circles, rectangles and triangles. But we are also making shape pictures with hexagons, diamonds and trapeziums and learning their names in the process.
