Fundraising

The Parents Association of St. Brigid’s National School are very active in fundraising for the school.  This year they raised over €4,000 from a Raffle for One Direction Tickets and more recently they raised over €2,400 from their annual sponsored walk.

This year the Parents Association gave €2,000 to the school to fill the oil tank to heat the school and in January they gave €1,550 to purchase books to set up the Literacy Lift Off Programme.   The Parents Association also organised Santa’s visit to the school this year and they gave selection boxes to all the children in the school.

The Parents Association are now hoping to build a new play area beside the astro-turf pitch at the back of the school.  Artificial grass will be laid and outdoor toys and games will be purchased.  It will be a fabulous area for the children to play in every day.

The Parents Association gave a fabulous cake to the confirmation pupils when they returned to school after being confirmed.  They are now organising a party for the First Holy Communion pupils in the school after they receive their first communion in St. Brigid’s Church, Killygarry.  Any parents who are willing to bake or to help on the day are asked to contact the school.  All help and support would be appreciated.

In May they will be having their bi-annual clothing collection which took in over €700 before Christmas so please start bagging your unwanted clothes items or bed linen.

Thank you to all the parents and local community for your continued support of the school and for supporting our Parents Association.
