Our new STEAM has been set up and we are delighted with how it has turned out. Our electrician has put in new sockets and data points and the room has been newly painted over the Halloween break. We would like to express a sincere word of thanks to one of our parents, Mr. Ger Tormey, for fitting the new worktop which holds 13 PCs and 8 Netbooks at present. All our musical instruments are kept in this room and our music stands. The room has broadband (wired and wireless) and a fully functional interactive whiteboard. The room is set out with a table in the middle for the pupils to do science, technology or maths activities and all classes have been timetabled for its use. The room will be used for after-school clubs (ukulele, tin whistle, chess, orchestra, etc.) also. We are looking for donations of construction toys e.g. Lego, K’NEX, Mag’s Max Magnet Sets, NestX Building Blocks, Robots, Klikko, Click-a-Brick Toys, etc. Please bring them into the school if you have no use for them anymore and we can establish if they can be used for STEM teaching in the school.
