Windows Poetry Winners

Congratulations to Kayla and Jude from fifth class who won Certificates of Merit in the Windows Poetry Competition on Sunday 14th May @ 3pm in the Cavan Crystal Hotel.  Out of 1,400 entries, Kayla and Jude came in the top 100 so that was a great achievement.  Well done!

Leah from 5th class is the Spelling Bee champion from Killygarry. She went to Farnham NS on Tuesday to participate in the County Cavan Championships. She represented the school very well and did us proud.

We are delighted to have a new ukulele after-school class in Killygarry! Thanks to Ms Wynne and Ms Yvonne Smith, 26 children are now learning to play the instrument- and it sounds great!

Turning the school BLUE for Autism Awareness

The whole school turned BLUE today for Autism Awareness month and €750 was raised for CAPS (Cavan Autism Parents Support group). Thank you everybody. A special word of thanks to Nili in fifth class who donated €100 of his confirmation money. What a generous boy.

Cavan artist Siobhan Harton is in the school this week painting the new mural with the children. It is a representation of 100 years of school life at Killygarry NS, with the four seasons as the background.
